Question on Using Immigration Service Company

While looking up information on what forms I need to fill out and what professions are in demand right now I ran into several companies that specialize in immigration.

So what I wanted to know: Is it better to use a company like the above or just go through the government's immigration website?

Thanks for you Help in advance,

Department of Immigration & Citizenship has relatively clear information on it in a step by step approach with references to all information most people will ever need.
If you are confident enough to find your way around a well laid out web site and make use of the features that include eligibility checking for skilled visas and the Checklists that are provided in the applying section, there's no real reason why you cannot do an application yourself and save more than a few $$$ while doing so.
