Will applying for Partner Visa affect my temporary work visa?

Hi there

I'm intending to apply for a partner visa (married in UK to wife who has Australian passport) .
I also work one month if the year in Australia on a temporary work visa and this visa is currently being processed.

Will applying for the Partner Visa delay or stop the other applications?

Also, I will be applying from outside Australia. I know I have to be outside when it's granted, but do I need to return to the same embassy/country from where I applied. Eg if I applied from UK, can I fly to Singapore to receive the visa?

Thanks all!

It won't affect you applying for temporary visas. You just have to be careful you don't accidentally get a temporary visa granted AFTER your Partner Visa is granted. That could be a very big problem.

You can be anywhere outside Australia when the offshore partner visa is granted. Doesn't matter where as long as you're not in Australia.

If you have two visa applications current, with one permanent/provisional and the other temporary, and the permanent/provisional visa is granted first, all you do is withdraw any outstanding applications. Unfortunately you will not a refund of fees, but it will solve all other problems.

Yep, it's that easy - but we saw someone here once who hadn't realized their Partner Visa had been granted (they hadn't gotten their notification yet), and they applied for a tourist visa which then overwrote their Partner Visa and it was a huge mess. That's the only reason I warn people about that.
