Defacto visa certification?

Hi, I'm going through the mountains of paperwork at the moment to apply for a defacto visa. I've been in australia for the last year but am planning on lodging my application offshore next month, when I travel home to Dublin, and will wait for the visa to come through over there. My OH will follow me over in May. I was planning on getting a friend of mine in australia who is a vet to notarize all the documents, passport copies etc for the 888 form, but I'm wondering if that is still ok for the London office? As I'm getting the paperwork together here is that considered legal in the UK? Does anyone else have any experience with this?

This application is a head wreck!!!

The evidence you will require will be much the same whether you do it from Dublin or here and the only difference is that you'll need to wait until you get back home for getting the Irish Police Check and hopefully more guiness and kissing the stone will work wonders.
So any evidence and statements you have here or document copies you want certified can all be done here if you like.

May you have a good wind at your back.

Thanks Wanderer!!!! So it's ok to have my copies certified here by an Australian on the certified list ie. a Vet, and enter it in the UK even if a Vet isn't on their list of certifiers?? Would I be better off using a police officer do you think? I really don't want to mess it up and end up having to do, and pay for this twice!!!
Thanks for your help

I usually go along to a cop shop myself as it is pretty simple to just ask at the desk if they have an officer for certifying copies and it is free.
As a non citizen, I'm not sure how legal a statutory declaration by yourself is here but it would not carry any less weight than a statement you had witnessed in Ireland for overseas statutory declarations are not considered a legal document here either.
As for certified documents or statements from here, that should not be an issue when submitted abroad for it is still the Australian government that you are submitting to and an Australian government document that has likely been printed here or under license somewhere in Europe.
