Skills qualification

Hi there. I'm a Canadian resident who is currently hoping to make the move to Oz with my family. The problem is, I'm a registered respiratory therapist and there is no such profession in Australia. Is there no hope for me to apply for PR? My skills include a vast knowledge in airway management, ventilators, medication administration, assessment skills in both pediatric and adult populations. Would there be another classification I could qualify under? I know there are quite a few employment opportunities in pharmecuetical and medical sales in Australia that I could probably prosper in. Thanks!

It seems you're talking of something associated closely with medical activities and that is a highly regulated area in Australia, one where some form of qualifications and registration will be required just as you have been registered in Canada.
I am not aware of a specific non qualification field that such people would be allowed to practice in within Australia though as you say, medical sales is a broader field.

If it is sales you want to look at, I doubt it is on the SOL for independent skilled immigration and you'll probably need to be looking at an employer sponsorship and so your best chance would be to do a bit of searching re respiratory equipment manufacturers and see how they go about attracting skilled/experienced sales people.
