Absence timeline from OZ on PR visa

Dear Wanderer,

Could you please advise me whether there is a regulation in which limits a PR visa holder can not be absent from Austrlia for a certain period of time (e.g: absent from Australia 6 months consecutively)?
I am afraid of I am not be able to come and stay permanently in Australia within 6 months from my Innitial Entry. I do need a longer time to arrange everything at my home country.
Your response is highly appreciated.

If you have done your initial entry to validate the PR visa, the PR visa is good for five years from granting and as long as you re-enter before its expiry it is not a problem.
The later you leave it will obviously delay when you can qualify for citizenship and get an Australian passport, so that could mean you would need to apply for a resident return visa if wanting to make a later trip out and back.

For example, say if it was three years before you came here again, that is OK and then it'll be about four years here before you can apply for citizenship.
If three years after arriving here you needed to go abroad, your PR would have expired but you can get a resident's return visa and that will be good for another five years.
