Case Assignment Timeline

Hi

How long does it usually take Immigration office to assign someone to your case. I submitted my application in December 2010 and haven't heard from them yet? Any comments?

Where did you lodge your visa, and what type of visa are you applying for? Some offices do things faster than others, and vary in how they carry out things. So, what is the case in one part of the world may not be the same in another.

It could be that you have a case officer, but have not been informed yet. Quite a few applicants get a grant notification without even hearing from a CO and never knew that they had one. Have you contacted immigration to find out what it is going on?

Thanks for your quick response.

Well, I haven't asked them. I applied online for Class 175. I am applying from Pakistan. What do you say? Should I drop them an email?

Hi again,

Well, from what I understand, the criteria for that visa has changed recently, so COs may still be getting to grips with the new legislation, which could be the cause of the delay. I guess making a quick and friendly phone call, or shooting of a quick e-mail wouldn't hurt and could ease your mind.
