A.I.M.S assessment

Hi there,
I am looking for some more advise regarding the assessment of Medical Scientists by A.I.M.S and finding it very difficult to get an answer. I have a South African primary and post grad degree in medical science and have been working in Ireland for the last few years. My main experience is in Cytology and more recently Histology. The question I am trying to get answered is do you need to sit the A.I.M.S written examination regardless of experience - I would find it very difficult to sit a multidisciplinary exam with no work experience in microbiology, haematology etc having obtained my primary degree about 20 years ago. I appreciate that they will have to assess my qualifications but need more info regarding the exam. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

We have not had any medical scientists looking for info on the forum that I can recall and all I can suggest to you is that all you can do is to see what info there is on the AIMS site and if needing more, see what you can get from them via email.
