Am i eligible for 886 VISA

Hi All,

I have applied for 485 Visa on 11 Mar 2010 and Immigration alloted bridging Visa A to me on 13 Mar 2010. I am still waiting for my 485 application to be finalized. By looking the speed of processing of 485 applications, i don't think my application will get processed before 30 Jun 2011. As i want to apply 885 (PR) visa before 30 Jun 2011 (as i don't want to fall under new point system, which will be applicable from 01July onwards),

Now my brother has got PR and he is willing to sponsor me, so i want to apply for Sponsored (Residence) visa (subclass 886).
Eligibility for 886 VISA is -

an overseas student or former overseas student;
a holder of a Skilled Graduate (Temporary) visa (subclass 485) or Skilled Recognised Graduate (Temporary) visa (subclass 476)

I am not sure whether I fulfill the first category or not which is an overseas student or former overseas student, i completed my education in Nov 2009, and my Student visa was valid till May 2010 and now i am on Bridging Visa A.

Could anyone suggest me am i eligible to apply for 886 visa in this case???

Your quick response will be highly appreciated.

Have you read Skilled – Sponsored (Residence) visa (subclass 886) and did your study mean your visa was an eligible student visa.
If so then it would seem you can apply.
The other thing you need to consider is whether your occupation is on the SOL#3 for without that, you could be in for a very long wait and no guarantee your visa would ever be granted.
