Launching PR without SKILL ASSESSMENT

hi ,
Am a recent graduate and i wish to apply for Permanent Residency. My visa expires 4 of MAY ie next month. I still have not received my skill assessment and i cant launch my application for PR .What will be the suitable visa to apply for the time being ?? And if i apply for Temporary residency can i withdraw the application in a month and apply for PR once i receive my Skill assessment.

Thanks for your reply .. And a question about the 485 visa. If i apply for the 485 visa ,i will be in a bridging visa till i receive it.Mean while if i get my Skill assessment and if am eligible for applying for Permanent Residency can i apply for it right away while in the bridging visa? Or should i wait for the outcome of the 485 graduate visa and only then apply for Permanent residency?

thanks and regards,
Ram
