Smile Defacto Visa and application forms

Hi all,

I'm Irish and my boyfriend is also Irish, he got sponsored last January and im now looking to go onto his visa as a defacto.

My own working holiday visa is not due to expire until June 2011, and we will not have the one years proof of our relationship until around that time also.

I'm just wondering if i don't lodge the application until 3/4 weeks before my visa expires is this leaving it too late? And also what forms will i need to fill out to lodge the application??

Thanks in advance for you help

I strongly advise you take a look at the information on the DIAC site and get your evidence together starting now! You need to submit more than just forms. Exactly what visa is he on?

I'd take a look at your partner's visa conditions and what it say about adding a partner to his visa. Also take a look here:

Partner Visa: Onshore Temporary and Permanent (Subclasses 820 and 801)

This information is for a straight out onshore partner visa application, so some things may not be the same, but it will give you an idea of what evidence you will need to provide along with the application.

You cant apply for a 820/801 visa unless your partner has PR or Citizenship.

You would probably be looking at joining his visa as a spouse assuming by your information he is on a 457 visa.
