No nice doesn't come into the equation at all. I just want to pack up and go. In fact our lease runs out in July, so I am working toward biting that bullet and just going. I have been miserable about it for the past 3 years, so now is time for action. Just need to get my loan and we are off.................

doI've been away about 10 years too. It was a bit of a shock to see how expensive things had got when we went last year. I'm a bit worried about the job market but then I seem to remember there be 'no jobs' back in the early 1990's and I still managed to end up employed despite my best efforts to dole bludge. So let's hope that where there's a will there's a way.

What's really funny is it was my stupid idea to come back here to have my son. Otherwise we'd have stayed in Indonesia where I was working and life was cheap and the pay was fab. Doh!

It's a bummer your husband isn't keen. Perhaps that's just the depression talking and he's seeing the negative side of everything? I agree with you, the main reason we're going is because of our son. It feels criminal to bring him up in this environment when the opportunity is there at our feet for some sort of better life.
