Tania, I don't think MOST countries use VFS, just some of them. What sort of tracking does VFS offer? Does it show different steps in the process, and if so, can you give me some examples? Just curious.

EDT, like many of us, if you'd applied online it would have been through ImmiAccount. You would not have gotten any special tracking information that way. Literally all it shows you is "Submitted" when you've submitted your application, "In Progress" a day or so later (I suspect that's when someone's glanced at it to ensure it's looking like a valid application, but that's sheer speculation on my part), and then nothing at all until "Decision Made," i.e., the visa has been granted. It doesn't tell you when your medicals were received, when a CO was allocated, or anything along those lines. So you're not missing out.

Call Immi and get a VEVO password. This will enable you to see when your application is approved as easily as possible.

I haven't read this entire thread yet, but wanted to say that ImmiAccount does "tell" you when your medicals have been uploaded by an eMedical provider. You have to go to the screen where it shows all the evidence you've uploaded; scroll down to the Next Steps for each applicant; where it initially said whether or not health examinations are required, it now says "Health has been finalised for this person for this visa subclass based on the information provided to the department. If this person needs to do anything further to meet the health requirement, they will be contacted by the department. There is no need to contact the department at this time concerning this matter."

I did NOT get an email or anything about this, I'm just (slightly) obsessive about checking to see if there are any updates on my account...

The medical update I am referring to, btw, took less than 24 hours and was for a child under age 11. The medicals for the two older applicants, which required blood work, have not been uploaded. The physician said those would show up in about a week.

Ah, that's a change to the system, then, and a good one! Awesome. At least that's SOME info, though it still doesn't really tell you where you are in the process and how much longer you have to go, which is what most applicants would want in a tracking system.

how much longer you have to go... probably the only thing any of us really care about

The list on VFS Global looks enormous and my close friends are all from Asian countries having used VFS. Anyways, in terms of the tracking they provide only things like:

- Your application has been received on <date> and will be forwarded to the Australian High Commission, Dhaka on <date>
- Additional evidence has been received on <date> and will be forwarded to the Australian High Commission, Dhaka on <date>"
- Your visa is in process in the Australian High Commission, Dubai.

The last one really had me go but this might be a system fluke (I don't know or they are offshoring some applications due to long queue, who knows?), and I'll check again on Monday if there's any change.

VFS tracker for me has been useless. The status till date since the date of application is reflecting "your application is under processing at the Australian High Commission, New Delhi"....aghhh tell me something I don't know already

Becky, yeah. Generally, it's not helpful. It just gives us hope that 'something' is happening.

Yeah! Something...not sure what that something is that's happening for the past 14 months I think this situation of not knowing what's happening makes this process more depressing. Only if the high commissions communicate even a little bit, things would become easier.
When did you apply for your visa?
Good Luck!!

Kind Regards,
Becky

Oh yes, I've heard about how your passport issue is delaying the visa process? Must be really hard for you! I hope things are sorted out quickly and you get an update soon!

I've been on my 7th month wait and it's very hard already. The usual processing time here is 9-12 months, so I'm just hanging there and waiting.
