Thank You Hassan! for your kind wishes
I called AHC yesterday afternoon and they said that my additional documents have been received by them on Monday September 22, 2014 and that they should've been forwarded to the case officer's desks by today.

45 minutes left before AHC closes for today. Hoping there is some good news before this week ends. Running out of patience now
Good Luck to you too! Hope the visitor visa application is coming along well

Kind Regards,
Becky

Welcome back

Hi CG
So good to have you back on deck again. It hasn't been the same without you. Hope you're refreshed and reinvigorated after some quality time with hubby in a very nice city. You are right about the weather down there in Mexico though. Cheers...

It's a living in the boonies thing! It takes me 1.5 to 2 hours to get to most places in Sydney. Having just gotten back from vacation I had a bit of a lie-in and slept until 11, then got up and got ready and was out of the house at 1:30 (yes, it takes me two+ hours to get ready... I am high-maintenance. LOL). At 3:30 I was around the corner from my interview having a chai latte (I like to get there plenty early when I'm traveling to an area for the first time... you just NEVER know), went for my interview at 4:15, out of there by 5:30, home by 7:15, and then it was time for dinner and a movie with hubby who was also done with work.

I am really, really glad we're moving much closer to the city in November. A two-hour commute into the city is really VERY annoying.

EDIT: Just heard that I didn't get the job... I was one of the top two finalists, but they went with her simply because she had the same experience I did, but in a corporate environment as opposed to a government environment. They loved my personality and said it would have been a pleasure having me around the office, loved my digital expertise and my "geekiness," and would have been thrilled to have me in the role had the other person not applied. The agency I applied through thanked me for making them look really good and told me they'd let me know if anything else came up. So close.

OMG! I could go to like Gympie or past the Gold Coast in that time! I am happy with my 20 mins to work (though I do drive). My hubby likes to get places early too - he is always at work 30 mins early.

Does your hubby work in or near the city?

I heard in Sydney it takes forever to get places. A friend of mine moved to Woolloogong and takes him some ridiculous time like 1.5 hrs to get to work. Give me Brisbane where it is 30 mins by train (and that is called far!).

Have I encouraged you to move to Brisbane yet

So close CG! Hang in there, I'm sure there's an even bigger window of opportunity just round the corner. ...And, you'll be happy nearer the city when you move in November. We live very close to the CBD and can walk to most places.
