Australian Embassy Bangkok - Partner Visa

My wife applied for a partner visa 309 at this office on the 16/2/2011 and I was wondering what other peoples' experiences with this office were.

We were also granted an interview on May 18th, and I was wondering what we should expect and also how long after an interview do they usually make the final decision.

Thank you for your replies.

Hi there Axis, I applied for the PMV 300 visa on 8th March 2011 at the Bangkok Aus Embassy. I got the confirmation email but never got the whole 'your case officer has been assigned' email.... so made my own inquiries (emails, phone calls). She kept telling me the processing time is 10 months- but it isn't for people from low-risk countries (I'm from the UK). It's really quite concerning because she keeps saying that in email correspondence- but I know its not the case- when I phoned her in March she said 4 months to me herself!! confused

How far in advance did you get your request for the interview if you don't mind me asking?

I'm just a bit concerned as my Thai visa runs out on July 10th- which is more than 4 months quoted by them- however who can say our application is being treated as low risk when our CO keeps quoting the 10 month processing period to us.... eeeek! It does worry me!

So my experience isn't especially good thus far- communication hasn't been especially good. Hope your experience has been better!

I've no idea what to expect with the interview (if there is even an interview- I'm assuming there will be?!).....
