Assuming the people writing the statements are in the US, yes, get their statements and a copy of their government-issued ID notarized. Easy to do in the US.

Applied: April 2013.
Visa Granted: January 2014.
Visa #2: Subclass 820 (From PMV).
Applied: End of April 2014.
Visa Granted: Early July 2014.
Visa #3: 801 (PR)
Eligibility Date: End of April 2016 (Applied a month prior).
PR Granted: Early April 2017.

So if I'm getting a statement from people here in the US, is it still supposed to be on form 888?

No, there's no need to make them use one. Have them write whatever they want to write on just plain paper, then sign it in front of a notary, get it notarized, and get a copy of their government-issued ID like passport or driver's license also notarized as a "true and correct copy" while they're there.

Technically no, but we used the 888 form for our non-Australian friends to do their Stat Decs anyway as it provides useful sections for them to fill in. That way, you can be sure they are including the exact information that Immi needs to know.
