Visit visa and condition 8503

I'm confused because my better half is planning to come on subclass 600 during (already progressing subclass 309) and most likely in final stages. I know that one has to be outside to get granted if applied from offshore location. but what about the below scenario:

Say that subclass 600 is granted for 6 months and the condition is imposed i.e. 8503, If the applicant (after 3 months stay in Australia) transits through to NZ and come back? Would that be a breach of condition?

Also, if 8503 is not imposed, can visit visa be extended whilst in Australia?

"No further stay" condition means you cannot apply for another visa while you are onshore. If it is multiple entry, then it is ok to re-enter on the same visa.

Thanks for your reply. Can subclass 600 be extended for more than 3 months though whilst in Australia if it has multiple entries or does one HAS TO LEAVE after 3 months and come back?

Also, would a round trip from New Zealand (not going out of the airport and catching the next flight back to Australia) count as going overseas and re-enter for another 3 months?

Probably not possible to change the visa conditions to suit you after the visa grant.

You might have some hard time explaining yourself at the border if you do that (i.e. catch the next available flight without exiting the airport).

In Australia, all passport holders can apply online for a Visitor visa extension.
As per quoted text, if it's so, then how? Anyone experienced?

I agree with GBP. If you go to NZ and fly straight back there is a high chance immigration will question them. Just remember just because your partner has been granted a tourist visa does not mean that immigration have to let them in.

Just remember when the decision for the 309 is about ready they usually require the applicant to be offshore for atleast 3 days.

Ask Mark to be 100% sure but 8503 means you can't extend your stay in Australia.

Hi Mish, thanks for your response.

1. Noted the first point.
2. Another question, when the CO contacts us for the grant, do we need to make an immediate exit to an offshore location or can we still use the 3 months we have on the visitors visa (provided we let the CO know?) REASON: It's cheaper to travel to NZ rather than back to home country ...

Thanks

Where did you apply from? The only place I have heard of where applicants have to return to their home country is Philippines. Everyone else just goes to Bali or NZ for a few days and wait for the grant and then travels to Australia.
