475 Visa extension

Hi All,

I am holding 475 Skilled sponsored visa. I had applied for this Visa from Offshore(India).

Visa Grant Date: 14 June 2012
Initial Entry Date: 08 January 2013

I will be applying for 489 Renewal Visa in order to get eligible for 887 Visa.

Can you please advice me that the Expiration Date of 489 Renewal visa in my case will be

a) 4 years from Visa Grant Date

OR

b) 4 years from Initial Entry Date

Regards,
KK

The visa is valid for 4 years from the date you were granted the provisional visa (subclass 475).

Thanks for your prompt response.

I will not be able to meet 887 visa conditions as my total stay would be 1 year and 5 months approx.

Is there alternative I.e., bridging visa to meet 887 visa conditions in my case.

Can you please advice .

Regards
Kk

At time of application, for the sc. 887 visa, you must have lived in a specified regional area for a total of at least 2 years as the holder of 1 or more of the following visas:

(a) a Skilled — Independent Regional (Provisional) (Class UX) visa;
(b) a Skilled — Designated Area-sponsored (Provisional) (Class UZ) visa;
(c) a Subclass 475 (Skilled — Regional Sponsored) visa;
(d) a Subclass 487 (Skilled — Regional Sponsored) visa;
(e) a Skilled — Regional Sponsored (Provisional) (Class SP)) visa;

(f) a Bridging A (Class WA) visa, or a Bridging B (Class WB) visa, that was granted on the basis of a valid application for:
(i) a Skilled — Independent Regional (Provisional) (Class UX) visa; or
(ii) a Skilled (Provisional) (Class VC) visa; or
(iii) a Skilled — Regional Sponsored (Provisional) (Class SP) visa.

Does that mean I would not be able to meet 887 visa conditions or I still have a chance ?

Did you hold one or more of the visas (including bridging visas) in the list I posted for a period of 2 years while living in a specified regional area ?

I will be moving to Adelaide in January 2015

My 475 Visa expiration date is 08-January-2016

After that I would apply for 489 - Renewal Visa that would expire on 14 June 2016 because my Visa grant date
was 14-June-2012.

Till 14-June-2016 I would be completing 1 year and 5 months in Regional Area.

Is there alternative I.e., bridging visa to meet 887 visa conditions in my case.

You would need to look at other visa options, as you will not meet the conditions of the 887 visa.

Perhaps contact a migration agent (they may give general information on the forums, but you'd now need to pay for a more indepth consultation), to see what options you may have.

I'd really need to know your entire visa history etc. to provide any sort of specific advice. As Maggie said, like most RMAs, I don't provide personal migration advice on an open forum. It's not the right place for that. I'd have to review your entire situation and that takes time. And as we all know, time is money...
