What would be the Child's Citizenship?

Hi,

I am a Permanent Resident of Australia, my wife she is here in australia on tourist visa ( & had applied for her spouse migration in India). Now my question if she gives birth to a child here in australia will the baby be Citizen because I am a PR & I have read it on Immigration website.. that if a parent is citizen or PR the baby becomes Citizen by birth.

Just wanted to reassure here.. me PR, wife on tourist Visa the baby becomes Citizen?

Thanks in Advance.

Cheers,
Ras
