309 visa

Hi Big W and all,

applied for 309 visa on 7th jan co assigned on 7th march asking for medical, pp and docs. Medical, pp and docs sent on 20th march. After that nothing heard from my co. So i called them after 2 months. Operator checked the status and told me medical clearance has not received from australia. what does this mean?
Anyone can suggest me why clearance is taking so long. Bit worried its almost 5 months since i applied and more than 2 months since medical is done. If anyone is in similar boat or its just me i m worried so much now.
All suggestions will be highly appreciated. waiting for your reply BIG W Thanks

Hi there,

Where are you applying from? Most offshore offices are telling applicants the waiting time is 9 months, but most people seem to be getting their visas at around 4 to 5 months if a form 80 wasn't needed.

As for medicals, those done offshore are sent to Australia to be assessed. There is a queue for those to be done, and from what I've read it is about 2 months behind. So, applicants who did medicals 2 months ago are getting them processed now.

I know it's nerve-wracking, but you just have to have faith that it will come eventually.

Killing us!

Hi Aussigirl

Thanks for your quick reply. I just dont understand this system. Some people are getting visa within 3 months and some r not even finalised after 5 months. The system needs to be looked at and updated.
They r dealing with life of people here and only those can understand and feel what kind of emotions and frustration we have to go through these killer time of visa processing. Its just like the life has stopped in red light and there is no hope of green light coz u dont know when and how long is the stopage for and no signage of greenlight at all.

Anyway thanks again, no other option than keep waiting......although it is killing our life like a slow poison............
