Hi Millie,

That's great news as well! I read about that somewhere to (or have at least seen it). We'd have been living together for 12 months anyway, but I guess there would be no harm in registering our relationship as well! We're engaged, so that, being registered, having lived together for 12+ months and having a wedding date is definitely enough evidence. Thanks for informing us that is an option!

Re: the rural work, that's probably not an option (unless you can do that not too far out from the coast?). We're going to be living in Mentone/Parkdale/Aspendale area as that is where I'll be working! If not, there's no huge problem in having to go over to NZ to lodge for the next application, so fingers crossed!

Prospectove Marrage Visa subclass 300

if your relationship is sincere then best to apply for a subclass 300 prospective marriage partner visa. As it is against the law to provide migration advise without being a Registered Migration Agent it is not possible to comment further on your application. A prospective marriage partner gives you up to nine months to finalise your marriage. You must meet section 46 of the act and Schedule one requirements and schedule two at time of grant. Once you are married you can apply for a subclass 820/810 partner visa. If you are under 30 you can apply for a working holiday. The main issue is that your relationship has to be genuine. Serious fines apply otherwise. Your best bet is to engage the services of a Migration Agent if you are unsure.
