When does my partner get a bridging visa?

My partner and I are looking to apply for an onshore partner visa in a few months and were wondering *when would she be granted a bridging visa? Is that the sort of thing that happens in a matter of days? Or is there a longer wait for even that to happen?

I have been reading a lot about partner visas (and this forum has been very useful) but I'm just not sure about the answer to this question.

If you apply online it is instant or at the worst the next day. If you apply by post up to 10 days.

Just remember the bridging visa won't kick in until the current visa as expired so you are bound by those conditions until the bridging visa starts.
