Best Option from USA

Hi all,

My long distance gf of 2 years is moving out later in the year to live with me. I lived in USA on and off over the past 2 years with work commitments (defence)

My questions are someone that already has an education with an BA in Intercultural Communications isn't a skilled enough worker for Australia??

If this is the case is our only option to begin the official de-facto timeline as she will be living with me and we will be sharing bills/banks accounts ect....this will obviously be leading towards us getting the defacto/spouse visa. Marriage is on the cards, but we won't be rushing it all for the sake of permanent residency.

Now I am assuming if this is the case the best option for the first 12 months is to get her on the Work & Holiday Visa subclass 462?? That way we can apply on the last day of the WHV for the Defacto Visa and they give you a bridging Visa until the Defacto is either approved or not.

Input and suggestions are more then welcomed, thanks for your time!

Hi zantar

I think that's a good plan -- for your gf to come over on a WHV, build up your evidence, then apply for the de facto after 12 months.

I've been looking into the US WHV for a friend of mine & it looks pretty easy to get -- inexpensive & only a week or so to process!
