Question Really Need Help Please - Partner Visa

Ok, long story short:

Partner (American) is in Australia on an ETA Visitor Visa. We are getting married Wednesday, handing in our partner visa application (all completed) in person at the Brisbane office on Friday. We have just today realised we need to have a registry copy of our marriage - which we won't have until around a week after we need to hand the visa application in. We HAVE to hand the application in by friday as his ETA expires on Saturday 25th June.

So my question is, what is the likelihood they will accept our application with the marriage certificate we receive on our wedding day? We will be able to produce a registry copy the following week. Our celebrant is aware of our time constraints and is express mailing to Births, Deaths and Marriages on Wednesday afternoon.

When you hand an application in, in person, do they go through your documents then and there? Will they give us a chance to mail in our official registry issued marriage certificate?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, am seriously freaking out here!!

I'd just include an explanatory note advising them of the situation with an assurance that the document will be forwarded to them as soon as it becomes available.
From what I understand they do realise that every situation is different and that there are often hiccups. Don't freak out.
