Applied: April 2013.
Visa Granted: January 2014.
Visa #2: Subclass 820 (From PMV).
Applied: End of April 2014.
Visa Granted: Early July 2014.
Visa #3: 801 (PR)
Eligibility Date: End of April 2016 (Applied a month prior).
PR Granted: Early April 2017.

Hi Tortise, I feel very sorry for you having to wait so long to hear from immigration

However I think it's not the same situation, and it's quite rude to say to someone who has been outside of Australia for 3 years, wondering if they could ever be with their partner again that "it's nothing"...

Tortise, 34 months is not "nothing." In fact, I believe it's the longest we have EVER seen on this forum for a first-stage partner visa. Other types of visas (especially ones the government has deprioritised) can take much longer, and I suspect this is what is happening in your case? I can't know, though, because you haven't told us what type of visa you applied for. Because waiting on a partner visa separates husbands and wives, 34 months is beyond outrageous.

It would certainly seems excessive however I wonder if a component of the delay was the 3 year ban he was subjected too, though you would think they would just refuse to accept his application outright until the 3 years were up.

Applied for de-facto 820 November 2014.
Cancelled student visa and studies early 2015,
went onto Bridging E visa - no Travel
APPROVED December 17TH 2015 - (no contact and no further evidence required)
Eligible for 2nd stage processing, submitted and waiting
