How far in advance should i start my application for a work visa?

Im looking to come to austrailia in the beginning on 2013! (long time in advance i know :-) ) i was wondering how soon in advance should i apply for my visa and how much it would roughly cost! Also id you know how much it is roughy for the flight if flew in from the uk!

I would think that you should start as soon as you have the documents ready and can tick all the requirements off the list.

Immigration laws change often, as does the cost of applying, so it's best to get in and apply now rather than wait and find you are no longer eligible for something or that the fee has gone up a few hundred bucks.

you need to enter australia within a certain period of time of the visa being granted.. i think it is 3mo.. but i am not sure.

so if you apply now but don't intend to come until 2013 you could have some problems!
