Thumbs up Apply for 175 or 176?

I believe after the 1st of July (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) sponsorship from relatives bears no extra points and is by doing so the migrant is expected to live, work in the designated area (in which the sponsor lives in) as well.

I'm a bit confused whether to apply for 175 or 176 (I qualify for both (pending ACS assesment), 176 is sponsored by my mother). If I apply the latter and once I move to Australia then I'm only able to apply for jobs in a designated area which is fine but limits my options.

My question to forum members is applying for one (175 or 176) gives me a better chance and priority from the other?

I'm applying under GSM. I'm on the IT Systems Analyst skill list am 32 years old this year married with one child and obtained IELTS band 7.

Thanks for your help.
