Streamlined visa question

Hey guys I have a few questions. I was just accepted to university of Queensland and am eligible for streamlined visa for grad school. I am currently on 3 year probation for a misdemeanor in the United states. Will this be an issue on the australian side? I've looked at the character requirements and I have not been sentenced to jail just was fined did community service and serving probation. What are my options?

Thanks!

this should not present an issue. You will need to declare it on your visa application and provide a detailed explanation, but it should not prevent you getting a visa.

Regards

Regarding your misdemeanour charge? As Jeremy said, declare it on your application with an explanation of the issue, express remorse and give any confirmation that you have learned from the situation and won't repeat, etc. It's unlikely to be an issue.

Thanks...my concern is that I'm still serving probation as the charge just occurred. It is unmonitored and all I have to do is stay out of trouble I can have it removed in 1.5 years
