pr visa

Just a question guys once you have submitted your partner visa within the 9 months of getting married i know you have to wait 2 years before your eligible for your pr all being well in your marriage ect, so my question is do the immigration contact us or do we have to submit the application ourselves. if we submit can we do this early or will they refuse it until the 2 years have passed? any thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

thanks guys
louiseb

Hey louiseb,

DIBP will invite the applicant to submit their paperwork for the second stage partner permanent visa application 2 months before the eligibility date which is 2 years from the date of your initial partner visa application.

From what I know and have read (please correct me if I'm wrong, seniors), for the online application you have to wait till you hit your eligibility date because it won't let you proceed unless you click "yes, it's been 2 years since the date of initial application" or something along those lines.
But the paper application can be submitted maximum 2 months in advance.

I don't think they'll refuse your application if you send in your paperwork early, they however will send it back to you if you if you submit it more than 2 months in advance as that's what is mentioned on the DIBP website.
Below is a link from DIBP's website- not sure if you've seen it already but I'll post it anyway:-
https://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/forms/partner/

Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Kind Regards,
Becky

Your right Becky, a friend has recently gone through the process, however because they were a bit tardy with the paperwork they ended up getting a reminder letter because the 2 years were up and they had not submitted their application.

Thank you confirming that my information was correct, aussiesteve
That letter must've been a warning letter to the applicant to submit their application ASAP. I'm feeling scared for them LOL!
I have my eligibility date along with the "2 months-in advance date" in my phone, on every device I own same with my husband, reminding us to get ready to submit the application for the subclass 100. Plus I keep checking the Partner Permanent Visa Calculator on the DIBP's website to be sure.

Kind Regards,
Becky

Hmm, then it means I can't lodge my papers online as my eligibility date will be on the 18th of this month.? I received a letter from DIBP 2 months ago inviting me to provide documents for my 801. Though I haven't lodge my documents yet, but I'm planning to submit it sometime next week.
The letter I've got last October, was telling me to submit documents and they even attached pdf files for online lodging instruction. Oh boy! Guess If I have to wait then I have to wait. No Big deal...

You can lodge online 2 months before the 2 years is up.
My wife lodged all the docs and forms about 3 weeks ago and her 2 years isn't up until the 10th Jan 2015.
And now when she checks is says "in progress" what ever that means.

Quick question iduno:- How did your partner submit her online application before the completion of 2 years?
The ImmiAccount says "As it has been less than two years since the applicant lodged the temporary visa application, the applicant is not yet eligible to be considered for the permanent partner visa." when I clicked NO for the 'Has it been a total of 24 months since the date the applicant lodged their temporary partner visa application?' question unless she clicked YES before completing 2 years from the date of initial application at the time of submitting her application.
Thanks for your help

Kind Regards,
Becky

Click yes and fill in the applicants form then attach all your documents.
I'm not sure is they look at the app before the 2 years are up but at least its all there for them.

Thanks for your reply When I clicked yes, it did what you said.
I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks again and good luck for your second stage visa processing.

Kind Regards,
Becky
