Hey!

Yes, the visa holder should be able to re-enter Australia if the visa has multiple entries on it. The visitor visa doesn't usually get cancelled when the holder departs Australia, it expires after a certain date. There should be an expiry date on the visitor visa.
Please provide some more details for us to be able to help you better.

Kind Regards,
Becky

My partner is American citizen and im australian. I plan to extend his visa next week so hes here for our second bubs birth in feb. But we are going on a holiday end of march.
Im curious to know if his visa is extended another 3 or 6 months is he able to reenter when we come back from bali as long as its before visa expiry of course.

Thanks for providing the details :)
Has your partner applied for a partner visa yet? If yes, I don't think extending the visitor visa for him to be able to be present for your second child's birth would be difficult. Also because the visitor visa doesn't have condition 8501- no further stay, you should be able to apply for an extension while he is onshore.

Also post your query on http://www.australiaforum.com/visas-...-mark-548.html thread and I'm sure Mark will be able to help you out better than I can since he is an expert :)
Hope this helps. Good Luck! And congratulations! :)

Kind Regards,
Becky

We were planning on applying for partner visa right after we get back from bali. The point on extension is just so i have a little more time to come up with the approx. 5000 for the partner visa and not have to struggle.
