Assurance of support time line.

Hi every one,
I have lodged my pmv application since january this year and i havent call for the Interview yet and all the additional document has been submitted.
1: Can anyone tell me what might be the reason and how long do i need to wait more.
2: Since my sponsor is not working at the moment i might request to arrange for aos. How many weeks do i need to arrange it?
Thanks.
,

Hi and welcome.

It's hard to know how long until you will be called for an interview, for PMV I'm not sure...have you tried contacting immigration to ask? What country are you in (what is your nationality)?

For your second question, you can only apply for an assurance of support if immigration tells you that you need one. The reason for this is that Centrelink is responsible for organising an assurer, but for Centrelink to give the forms to the possible assurer, they need notification from immigration that one is needed. I'm not sure how long the process takes once it begins, but for now you just have to wait and see

I've just looked at the processing times for this visa:
Client Service Charter
Low risk country - 5 months
High risk country - 12 months
I'm pretty sure Cambodia is a high risk country...that's why it's taking so long

I am sponsoring my husband, he doesn't have a job, and I only work part-time because I'm a student - so don't worry. That's why they do Assurances of Support, you won't get a visa refused if the sponsor doesn't have a job - as long as someone else does an AoS. Good luck!

You're welcome. Yes, seeing that the processing times are quite long it's a good idea to wait until they call you for an interview (don't be worried unless they haven't called for 12 months, around December since you applied in January).

You will probably get a request for an AoS by email. Don't worry, they'll let you know
