We applied on line for an 820 visa nearly a year ago, and it was done online.

We recently got an email asking for extra information, and that's great, we've been waiting for something like that.

Part of it was for police checks for my wife, but also it asked for a form 40SP to be completed and signed OR electronically online.

I opted to do this online via our immi account, but when I did this, it opened a new TRN number for me with the family sponsorship subtitle, and the 40SP looks nearly the same as our original application.

Have i done this right? I've filled it out all the way to page 18 and saved it. Not sure whether to progress further incase for some reason it's a brand new application, which obviously we don't want.

Some info on this would be great. Thanks guys.

It's been over 2 years since we did this, but if I remember correctly, you should have filled in your partner's TRN from their application to link yours with your partner. Or, you can fill it all out, print it, sign it and upload it into your partner's application. Yes, they do look the same and most of your answers should be the same as on your partner's 47sp. Since they stated you can either complete and sign, or do it electronically, you could print, sign and upload. When my husband did his 40sp, he did it on my immi account. He didn't make a separate account. But, he also did a paper one which we uploaded to my application as an attachment. That way, we covered it both ways.

Thanks Guys... It looks like i was on the right track then.
I noticed the link to a TRN which I referenced. Just wanted to make sure.

With the contact from the CO, does a CO actually email you then you correspond directly? I eam, do they actually say to you "I am your case officer"?

Because I imagine it would be good to ask them questions directly if there was some sort of grey area of understanding exactly what the department wanted.

 

For me, my CO actually called me and gave me her name and direct line. However, most don't do this. I was very lucky to have a great CO. Did your email come directly from an individual, or was it just a processing center? For me, after I uploaded what they'd asked for, I waited a couple of days, then I called to ask if there was anything else that I needed to provide. I got the grant 20 minutes later. So, I don't see how it could hurt to send an email back asking if they need anything else after you've completed what they asked for and clicked the tab "provided all requested" or whatever it says.

 

The email was from correspondence@homeaffairs... so it was just the generic email. The letter did have the first name and ID of the person who sent the email, but did not have a direct email or contact number. The officer was also from an overseas mission, not here in AU.
